Doses of Hope Foundation (DOH) is a non-governmental development foundation dedicated to structurally improving the lives of the Somali people. In practice, this means
…building the capacity of the poorest – economically through microfinance, and educationally through training for livelihood skills.
…increasing the potential of disabled children and young people through the provision of artificial limbs – and bringing the blind and visually impaired into society through Braille literacy.
…educating and training low-income and high-risk groups on HIV/Aids, prevention and care.
DOH was established in the Netherlands in November 1997, born out of the initiatives of a group of Somali Women in the Diaspora living in the Netherlands. Today it has a mixed Board of Dutch and Somali nationals.> More about the Board
